Martin Gardner is a management consultant who started his career
as an advertising copywriter. He honed his marketing and sales skills
at some of the world's largest agencies and corporations, such as
SSC&B/Lintas, Compton/Saatchi & Saatchi, Grey Advertising,
Grey Direct, Chapman/Wunderman Worldwide Direct, Avon Products,
and Dow Jones.
Eager
to apply these techniques first-hand, he founded and ran a fine
art publishing and distribution firm, building it from start-up
to an international prominence, with distribution in 17 countries.
Subsequently, he was hired by a Swiss manufacturer of high-tech
professional audio tape recorders to manage and turn around their
American subsidiary. He reached corporate goals in less than one
year.
He
started his own consulting practice in 1991 for clients who work
in a variety of disciplines -- from manufacturing to technology
to consumer product marketing and nonprofit consulting. He designs
marketing strategy. Coaches salespeople. And, as often as possible,
creates advertising. He holds a Ph. D. from New York University
and an
M. Ed. from the University of Virginia.
